PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Dr. Sinéad Ní Ghabhláin earned her Ph.D. in Archaeology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1995. She has been listed on the Register of Professional Archaeologists since 2000. Dr. Ní Ghabhláin has experience in historic archaeology, architectural history, museum administration, historic artifact analysis, prehistoric archaeology and medieval archaeology.

Dr. Ní Ghabhláin’s work in southern California has included numerous Section 106 and CEQA projects including large scale surveys, intensive surveys, surface collections, subsurface testing programs and full-scale data recovery programs for SWDIV, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Caltrans, General Services Administration, Jones and Stokes Associates, City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department, Center City Development Corporation, Coachella Valley Water District, Imperial Irrigation District, City of San Diego Metropolitan Wastewater Department, Santa Fe Irrigation District, North County Transit District, and numerous private companies. Dr. Ní Ghabhláin has a particular interest in historic sites archaeology and historic building and structure evaluations.
