ASM FACILITIES

A Full Range Of Services

ASM Affiliates, Inc. has two office locations in California one in Nevada. Our principal office, located in northern San Diego County, is a large office space which accommodates our staff and multiple projects in different stages of progress.
ASM also has branch offices in Pasadena, Los Angeles County, Reno, Nevada, Salt Lake City, Utah and Cheyenne, Wyoming.

We use networked computer workstations, a powerful ARC/INFO GIS workstation, three Pentium NT workstations running AutoCAD, ArcCAD and ArcView, two digitizing pads, an HP ScanJet, and a variety of HP printers and copiers. ASM has the ability to produce the highest-quality technical reports that meet the requirements of all reviewing agencies. We have a library that houses extensive project files, and published and unpublished reference materials.

ASM owns a full range of field equipment and is capable of conducting numerous projects concurrently, including survey and excavation. Field documentation is aided by the latest technology available including laptop computers, digital cameras, handheld GPS units, a Trimble GPS backpack unit, and video recorders. ASM uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to accurately reference geographic data which facilitates the management and protection of cultural resources. ASM employs innovative remote sensing techniques such as ground-penetrating radar, resistivity and magnetometers to identify cultural deposits.

Our laboratory is fully equipped to process, analyze, and curate all sizes and manners of collections. The lab is also outfitted with three computers and a scanner, several binocular microscopes including specialized microscopes for paleoethnobotany, lithic use-wear, and ceramic petrography, all with photographic capabilities, and electronic digital balances and calipers. ASM feels that by using the most contemporary technology, both in the field and in the laboratory, we can provide the most accurate data for our technical reports in a minimal amount of time.
