PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Mr. Kaldenberg joined ASM in 2007 after 31 years in federal service as an archaeologist. Most recently, he served as the Command Archaeologist at NAWS China Lake, located in the southern California Mojave Desert. He has received numerous prestigious awards for his work to preserve archaeological and historical resources in the Southwest.

Mr. Kaldenberg served as the BLM’s State Archaeologist in the state of California from 1993-2003. He has served as Chair of the California State Historic Preservation Officer’s Task Force on archaeological mitigation/banking and as a co-chairperson of the Paleontology and Cultural Resources Action Team for the Desert Manager’s group.
