ASM staff regularly participate in pro bono independent research assistance. In this project, Sherri Andrews and Jerry Schaefer assisted UNLV M.A. candidate, Eric White, in his efforts to replicate fishing methods at prehistoric Lake Cahuilla. This project tied into ASM archaeological projects on the Lake Cahuilla shoreline. Fieldwork occurred with the support and supervision of the Bureau of Reclamation’s endangered Colorado River fish breeding program at Lake Mojave. Conditions there were used as a proxy of Lake Cahuilla during the spawning season.
