OLIVER N. PATSCH, B.A.Associate Archaeologist EDUCATION
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCEMr. Patsch has worked in cultural resources management (CRM) for 16 years. He has worked extensively in California and Nevada and in areas of Utah, Idaho, Arizona and Oregon. Over the past eight years, Mr. Patsch has served as field director for numerous projects including large, multi-jurisdictional pedestrian surveys, and testing and data recovery projects managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and United States Forest Service (USFS). As such, he is extremely familiar with federal regulations and processes. Mr. Patsch is also adept in recording both prehistoric and historic resources. His specialties include total station and GPS mapping, stratigraphic sediment profiling, macro botanical flotation, and Native American consultation Prior to his experience in archaeology, Mr. Patsch spent many summers in Alaska conducting mineral exploration for a large mining company, thus attaining a working background in Geology. Unique opportunities have allowed him to work on projects such as the Donner Party site near Truckee, California, the Gypsum Cave-type site near Las Vegas, Nevada, and a prehistoric steatite quarry in Sonora, California. Mr. Patsch is MSHA-certified and has been cleared to work on numerous military bases.
