Molly Molenaar, ASM Senior Ethnographer, received her M. A. in Anthropology from Texas Tech University. She has conducted ethnographic research and assisted federal and state agencies for the past ten years with Native American consultation and the identification of traditional cultural places for compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). These projects include Resource Management Plans (RMPs), Integrated Cultural Resource Management Plans (ICRMPs), ethnographic overviews and Federal agency tribal consultation assistance for the processing of right-of-way applications (transmission lines, transportation, pipeline, fiber optics), drilling permits (mining, natural gas development), and seismic survey permits on public lands. In addition to working on projects with the BLM (California, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming), Ms. Molenaar has completed projects for the U.S. Navy Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), Utah Transit Authority (UTA), and U.S. Army Reserve. Specific projects completed for the U.S. Navy include an ethnographic assessment and tribal consultation assistance to the Naval Air Weapons Station, China Lake Base Archaeologist for a gunnery range on the North Range.

Ms. Molenaar has worked with over 60 tribes in the Great Basin, Southwest, Colorado Plateau, Plains, and California. In 2002 she received a special commendation from the BLM for her work on Native American consultation for the Kern River Expansion Project, a 700-mile multi-state pipeline project. In 2005, she received an excellence award from the Commanding Officer of the Army Reserve 96th Regional Readiness Command for the development and coordination of a series of tribal forums that focused on cultural resource consultation.
