PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Mr. Williams began doing archaeology while attending the University of San Diego and participated in projects at Orvietto and Pompeii, Italy before graduating with honors.
After graduation he was accepted to the Flinders University Maritime Archaeology Masters Program. During this time Brian worked with Flinders University staff and Heritage Victoria
on maritime projects in Adelaide and Melbourne, Australia. His thesis for this program was based on personal items excavated from Maple Leaf an American Civil War shipwreck in Jacksonville, Florida.
While writing his thesis he volunteered for shipwreck survey in the Northwest Hawaiian Islands and began doing Cultural Resource Management in San D iego. Brian has also worked locally with the Barona Tribal Museum and San Diego Archaeology Society and taught a class in Anthropology and Gender at the University of San Diego.
Since starting Cultural Resource Management, Brian has conducted surveys and excavations for and recorded numerous prehistoric and historic sites from the Pacific Coast to El Centro, CA.
His interests in archaeology and maritime archaeology follow the human development and alteration of self-identity throughout an individual’s life.
